Dr. Shilly Maelane is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon with a strong focus on arthroplasty, spine surgery, and sports medicine. He obtained his MBCHB from the University of Limpopo (Medunsa Campus) in 2007 and went on to complete a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery (MMed FC Ortho) at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University in 2016.
Since 2017, Dr. Maelane has been affiliated with the Smith & Nephew Arthroplasty Academy, where he continues to refine his expertise in hip and knee replacements. He currently operates three thriving practices across Gauteng, providing advanced orthopaedic care to a wide range of patients.
Committed to continuous professional development, Dr. Maelane holds certifications from both the American College and the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. In February 2025, he further advanced his training by attending a Masters Course in Arthroplasty in India, sponsored by Meril.
Lebogang Masondo is a dedicated physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2017. Since entering the private sector in 2019, she has built a strong reputation for her clinical expertise and patient-centered care. In 2021, she founded her own physiotherapy practice, where she continues to provide personalized treatment and rehabilitation services.
A member of the South African Society of Physiotherapy, Lebogang is skilled in dry needling and taping techniques. She completed an Advanced Neuro-Musculoskeletal course in 2023 and now serves as a supervisor for students undergoing the same training. Her commitment to professional excellence also includes certification as a trained medicolegal assessor, obtained through the Foundation of Professional Development in 2018.
Beyond her clinical work, Lebogang is passionate about community health. She serves on the board of the Health Committee for a Tshwane Municipality Clinic and actively creates educational content on social media to promote wellness and physiotherapy awareness. Her dedication to family, community service, and ongoing education defines her holistic approach to healthcare.
